PhD in Human Nutrition is a Doctoral level course of 3 years. The course trains candidates in the study and research in Human Nutritional Science, Nourishment, Food preservation and Food management aimed at improving Human Health in the society. The course covers a wide range subjects significant to Human Nutrition like Macro and micronutrients, Food and Energy metabolism, Body fluid balance, Body composition, Computation of Nutritional Requirement, Dietary Management, Diet related diseases, Nutritional care and Assessment etc Upon completion of the PhD course candidates can expect to get placements as Nutrition Specialist, Dieticians, Food Researcher and Analyst, Food Service Manager, Food Quality Control officers in Food and Beverage Industries, Fitness Centres, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Government Food safety Departments etc. Starting salaries can be expected to range from 5 to 10 Lakhs per annum depending on the type of organisation and job position.
