Course Description

Ph.D in Irrigation and Drainage Engineering is 3-5 years research based program. The course that focuses on hydrology irrigation, drainage engineering and other related water management areas of study like water quality, groundwater, watershed management, weather modification and surface water. This program emphasizes and facilitates creation of new innovations and techniques for water and waste management, keeping up with the new developments and results of research, as well as case studies and practical applications of engineering. The main aim of this course is to impart fundamental and holistic knowledge of methods and techniques for avoiding water-borne and water-related diseases, weed control, effective control of water logging, etc. The course also consists of project work and generating thesis at the end of the program, the topic will be suggested by the faculty of the colleges.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters or M.Phil. degree in Irrigation and Drainage Engineering or in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
