Course Description

PhD in Orthodontics is a Doctoral level course of 3 years. The course is based on study and research in the field of orthodontics which is a speciality in dentistry and deals with prevention and correction of malpositioned teeth. The course covers a wide range of concepts in orthodontics like Teeth Banding, Preoperative and postoperative orthodontics, Bonding, Restorative dentistry, Tooth movement, Head, neck and oral anatomy etc. Upon completion of the PhD course candidates can expect to get placements Dental Hygienists, Health Specialist, Forensic scientists etc in Healthcare sectors. Starting salaries can be expected to range from 4 to 8 Lakhs per annum depending on the type of organisation and job position. Eligibility criteria is Merit based and candidates are expected to complete a Master’s degree or MPhil in a relevant field with minimum 55% aggregate marks and many reputed Universities have their own Entrance examinations followed by interviews. Fees in Universities are somewhere between 30K to 2 Lakhs INR depending on the institution.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters or M.Phil. degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
