Course Description

MD in Pulmonary Medicine program focus on interstitial lung disease, pulmonary vascular disease, heart-lung and lung transplantation, and non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease. It also provides pre-operative evaluations and comprehensive pulmonary function testing.The course includes the whole range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures associated with the practice of pulmonary and critical care medicine: flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy with all ancillary procedures, endotracheal intubation, arterial and central venous line placement, thoracentesis and closed pleural biopsy, bedside pulmonary artery catheterization as well as chest tube placement. MD in Pulmonary Medicine course is suitable to provide optimal clinical care and apply basic, clinical, and translational research discoveries to understanding the pathogenesis of lung diseases and improving treatment. Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters or M.Phil. degree in Pulmonary Medicine or in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
