Course Description

PhD in Translational Medicine and Research is a Doctoral level course of 3 years. It is a thesis programme and it is defined as an “interdisciplinary branch of the biomedical field supported by three main pillars: benchside(lab), bedside(hospitals), and community(patients)" by the European society for translational medicine. The goal is to combine disciplines, resources, expertise, and techniques within these pillars to improve global healthcare systems significantly. Candidates with this degree can become Research scientists in transitional medicine and can work in health research and development fields and as University or medical college deans/professors. Candidates with this degree can also become Medical Professors in reputed Medical colleges. Starting salaries can be expected to range from 8 Lakhs to 15 Lakhs per annum depending on the organisation and job position. Eligibility criteria is Merit based and candidates are expected to complete Masters in related discipline with most Universities setting their own criteria of minimum 55% to 60% marks. Many Universities have their own PhD entrance exams. Average Fees for the course is between 20K to 3 Lakhs INR per annum depending on the institution.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters or M.Phil. degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
