Course Description

PhD in surgical oncology is a Doctoral level thesis programme of 3 years. Surgical Oncology basically deals with surgical treatments to remove tumours and other cancer tissues from the Human Body. The scope is very bright with candidates having the potential to become specialised Surgeons and Oncologists in different health institutions and health research departments in both private and Government institutions. Candidates with this degree can also become Medical Professors in reputed Medical colleges. Starting salaries can be expected to range from 6 Lakhs to 15 Lakhs per annum depending on the organisation and job position. Eligibility criteria is Merit based and candidates are expected to complete Masters in related Health discipline. Most Universities setting their own criteria of minimum 55% to 60% marks. Many Universities have their own PhD entrance exams. Average Fees for the course is between 20K to 3 Lakhs INR per annum depending on the institution.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters or M.Phil. degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
